Back to work today and I felt like it wasn’t going to end. I felt like it was two days not one day. People are getting bills for charges for the New Year and they don’t understand their insurance policies. Some people no matter what you say to them they don’t want to believe you. They also think they know everything. I had an insurance rep today about money that they offset from us. Offset means that they pay us and then next time they “pay” us they will take it from another account that they paid us before because they paid as an error. So she was telling me that they offset on the other account. Found out the account they “took” the money they paid the patient. So how can you offset on money that you paid the patient. She was getting lost very much and I was on the phone with her for over a half of an hour. Then other patients are calling about charges that they paid already and don’t understand it takes time to post on the account. They were like I sent the payment on Monday of last week. Just keep in mind that we were close a day so it does take some time to post. They think they are the only ones we see. We book about 40,000 visits per month. Just think of all the payments we have to post after insurance pays and then they pay us. Anyway I am just glad today was over for work that is.
