Day 021 – I can’t pay my medical bill but I have great teeth

Today at work was a lot better than the last few days. Today I received a letter from a patient about her bill. She received a bill in the amount of $57.00 for a shot she received at the doctor’s office. She told me that she is unable to pay that but she will pay no more than $20.00. She can’t pay it because she is paying over $4,000.00 a year for her insurance. Also she just spent $1,500.00 on her teeth and it wasn’t cover by her insurance. She want us now feel sorry for her. Sometimes I don’t feel sorry for people. I know it seems mean that I don’t care but don’t go into a long story about how you can’t pay for it. Now if she had a service done and it was over a few thousands of dollars that’s a different story. I do listen to patients and what they are requesting. I think it’s better when someone call in about their bill so you can tell how they are. Well that’s my two cents for today so this is Matt in the hat and I am out of here.
